LINE DRILL LD240 - POWERFUL HAMMER FOR LINE DRILLING AND STONE FINISHING IN NATURAL STONE QUARRIES
PRECISION BY POWER, ALIGNMENT AUTOMATICS AND FINE-TUNING
Linedrill LD240 has been developed for open-bit mining, for stoping in benches. Excavating requires great precision: defining the exact drill location, measuring and keeping the small distances between the drill holes, defining the exact bore depth and defining the alignment with respect to the straight line of other drill holes in addition to the horizontal and the vertical alignment. It is also compulsory to be able to drill a straight hole, a curved drill hole spoils the symmetrical form of a dimension stone. Alignment automatics and anti-jamming automatics are optional features. They provide quality and reproducibility at repetitive work phases. Anti-jamming automation prevents the rock drill to get stuck.
DRILLING AUTOMATICS AND TWO ROCK DRILLS
A line drill must be effective, because the amount of needed drill holes in loosening and forming a dimension stone chunk is tremendous. Two rock drills double the work speed. Drilling automatics optimizes the penetration of the drill into the stone.
LARGE COVERAGE AREA SAVES TIME AND INCREASES SAFETY
Large coverage area saves work time because moving the vehicle constantly would take a lot of time. Stone chunks in natural stone quarries are usually as big as 1000-2000 m3, which means that even working around just one stone chunk requires a lot of stretching and turning. LD240 provides a ±100° turning drilling head, vertical tilt of ±40°, horizontal tilt of ±30°, 250 mm lateral zoom and 600 mm zoom for feeding device.
TIRES OFFER DRIVING QUALITIES ON THE QUARRY ROADS AND STONE SURFACES
Tires are a good choice for moving along the quarry roads and slippery stone surfaces. It is also important to choose such a vehicle to carry the line drill which handles tilting, turning and movements on an uneven and slippery surface.
CAMERA
Camera is attached in the back of the vehicle to improve the visibility when moving the vehicle.
RADIO CONTROL INCREASES SAFETY
Drilling head is controlled remotely. This is an advantage from the safety and ergonomy point of view.
STEADY WORKING POSITION
When drilling the line drill must stay reliably and steady on the given spot. This has been assured by two back outriggers, a frontal dozer blade and four outriggers with a dozer abutment in the drilling head.
EFFECTIVE AND ROBUST HAMMERS
A rock drill must be effective enough to be able to drill with high precision. LD240 includes two Drillcom RD22-hammers.
PAYING ATTENTION TO THE GENERAL NOISE LEVEL
Working with the stones is very noisy. That is why it is extremely important to keep the noise coming from the vehicles and equipment as low as possible in order to diminish the general noise level. We follow the EU directives concerning the allowed vehicle and equipment noise levels and warning procedures.
STONEPOWER DUST COLLECTOR REMOVES STONE DUST FROM THE DRILL HOLE
There is a Stonepower dust collector in the linedrill system that removes the dust from a drill hole to the backside of the vehicle.

GOOD VISIBILITY
Good illumination is provided by five work lights to enable working also in inadequate lighting.
